Swing Set!

The swing set was delivered the day Keenan had an overnight in Nashville for work meetings. (Which we are VERY proud of him, he came away with 3 of the 4 awards presented for his building's overall performance etc. for 2008! GREAT JOB!!!)When he got back home we put it together that night! Thankfully, NONNY was here to entertain Bailey so we could get it put together. It only took us 1.5hrs that night but we found out the next night we had to take it apart to fix "our error" so there was another hour wasted. Thank you Step 2 for EXTREMELY CLEAR DIRECTIONS!

Bailey says, "Ready Set GOOOO!!" and she's down the slide!

Bailey's BFF Aubrey came over last night to play on the swing set. The girls had a blast. Bailey always looks out at the window and says, "Aubey, Aubey!"...their house is across the street. If Aubs happens to be out when Bailey is out, WATCH OUT! Bailey makes a BEE LINE to head over to her friend's house. :)

Bailey loved it when Aubs would go down the slide and clap for her like crazy. So cute! The girls play so good together...I need to take & post some pics SOON! Thanks for a fun evening, Cheven & Aubs!

Bailey just loves bubbles, but with these constant gale force winds everyday it makes it kind of hard to play.

ICE CREAM!

After our fun evening at USI's Reflection Lake on Sunday, we stopped at DQ and got Bailey her 1st kiddie cone. We hurried home so we could get her outback because we new a drippy mess was in order! :) Needless to say, it was a mad dash to the bath tub after her treat!

I wanted to be able to post some, not sure if I am allowed to scan and post her prof ones or not....we'll see.

It looks like she is praying..so cute!

March For Babies 2009

Team Madison Hape raised a combined $1800.00 This year for the March of Dimes! Thank you Dan, Tracy, Megan, Mom & Wendell for working hard to raise money for our team! Thank you to ALL that supported us during the rough financial time for everyone!

It pulls at your heart strings to walk in memory of your daughter and in honor of your other daughter who were both born prematurely. It is something we feel a need to do though. There was a great turn out down at Sunset Park this past Saturday. I have yet to hear the grand total of money raised, I bet it was a lot! It was a beautiful day despite the wind.

It was great to run into some friends that I haven't seen since high school. Their children too were born premature. You don't realize how common something is until you go through it yourself.
Bailey was not so cooperative when trying to get a much needed family pic.

It was really neat to be walking down Main Street (during the 3mi) walk and see Bailey's 6mo pic hanging in Walker Studio's window. Pretty cool!

Keenan and I had our 2nd annual cookout for our team after the walk. YUM YUM!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter From The Hapes

Bailey kept the bunny ears on long enough for me to snap a quick pick...she had her eye on her Easter basket and was headed straight for it. The Easter bunny got carried away this year it seems and bought TOO much stuff to fit in the basket...:) I will add, there was NO sugar, candy or any of the sorts in her basket! Thank you Easter Bunny!!! She is STILL very much into, books, counting & puzzles & that is what she got + more stuff!!!...how did the Easter bunny know???

We had just gotten back from our trip so we were exhausted from the less than desirable weather (cold, storms, tornadoes & high wind). We are back safe and sound ....LONG STORY!!!! We are GLAD to not have to run here and there for the Easter holiday. It was very nice, peaceful & enjoyable to sit at home and enjoy family time since we hadn't seen our baby in a few days. Grandma came over too to visit & play and most importantly give Bailey her Easter goodies from the bunny that stopped by their house...;-) We had our awesome Easter lunch at Nonny's Saturday. THANK YOU, it was so nice not having to cook a big meal! SO VERY TASTY!

We weren't in town for any of the Easter egg hunts, so after her nap Sunday, we let Bailey have her own out back. It was great until the crazy dog out back started barking, then a horn started honking later. Needless to say, Bailey is easily distracted and that put the brakes on the egg hunt. SHe had fun up until that point. Next year we will pay more attention to our vacation dates so Bailey can participate in a local egg hunt.

Bailey is starting to eat more variety as of the past week. We can now add roast, broccoli, green bean casserole, carrots & squash to her list of finger foods!!!! We haven't had baby food veggies in SEVERAL days! :-D We are having to bribe her to eat it....for example, "Eat broccoli first, then you can have ham." Works every time! Now, we just need to work on fruit! She is still eating baby food fruit...baby steps I guess. We ended up bribing her last night to eat real pineapple with a couple bites of ice cream. It worked..just hoping that these initial bribes will get her the "taste" for the fruit or veggie. She has liked everything so far that she has tried....we are desperate to get her off baby food veggies & fruit so we will try anything...6 months ago, I would have told you that I would NEVER bribe my kid...Well, things change! :)

We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter---I KNOW WE DID! :-D
