Playground Fun

Thursday after Keenan got off of work, we went to Daniel Wertz Elem. School, to play on their playground. Burdette was packed, unlike when Bailey and I had gone there that morning.

She enjoys the slides, merry go rounds, tunnels, climbing stairs...you name it- this kid likes it and is not afraid of anything. She must take that part after Keenan.

Bailey, the determined little girl that she is, wanted to go down the big tube slide. She screamed and screamed. Keenan said no way was he going down that thing, esp with Bailey. So I stepped up to the plate, I use to love those when I was a kid. I got Bailey on my lap, SHE WAS THRILLED! We take off...my feet hit the 90 degree turn which caused an abrupt hault! I'm just lucky I didn't break my ankle as we all know I am prone to injury. LOL So after that minor inconvenience, we carried on and go to the end. Bailey thought it was great...and we thought the static in her hair was great! (By the way, when I went down those slides as a kid, my legs were a lot shorter! I forgot to take that into consideration around turn 1. Keenan said the whole slide shook...lovely! :) )

After our fun filled evening, we made a quick stop by the DQ and we all shared a Brownie Earthquake. Bailey now shouts, "I CEAM"...and won't quit until she gets some. He even sneaked in a few bites of chocolate and she liked it. How about that?!?! It was a great way to end a great day.

17 Months Old & HAPPY SPRING!

A couple of weeks ago I got Bailey a finger painting kit...something to do on the upcoming rainy days. She didn't get all crazy messy like I was anticipating, but I think after the initial shock of it. She really enjoyed it! She looks so grown up in these pics!

On St. Patty's day, I did a little photo shoot for a friend out a the USI disc golf course. Check out a 'few' of the pics. CLICK HERE. We had a great time and the girls became, "friends," and enjoyed playing together.

Bailey just turned 17 months old a couple of days ago. Oh, what a great age this is. Her NEWEST favorite thing is counting. She counts 1-6...tries to go to 10..but the last few numbers are hard to understand.
She has days where she says , "A B C D" well, then other days you will here, A D D D...:) That's my girl! She has also started saying "ASHES ASHES...FALL" for ring around the rosy. SUPER CUTE IN MY BOOK! SHe is loving to climb everywhere and anywhere and spin around and around then fall. Oh, to be a kid again!!!
We are having so much fun with her outside! When it is time to come in, of course, she throws a minor fit...but who can blame her? I don't like coming in either after being cooped up all winter! We have had a VERY busy past few weeks...from going down to Grammy's (Nonny) a couple of weeks ago, to going down to Lake Barkley last weekend and stayed with some friends of ours. We had a BLAST! Bailey did great napping and going to sleep at night in a house she had never been in. She is doing so well in regards to that.

Eating: It is somewhat better. She will now eat a green bean & broccoli...but nothing else of the fruit or veggie variety that is not "baby food." I hate that I have to keep buying that stuff, but she needs it for the nutrition...and someday she will eat what we are having. As far as meat goes...she still eats, ham, hot dogs, pork chops, bacon & chicken...but NO beef or sausage. It will happen one of these days. Even though it isn't great like other kids her age...it is STILL way better than just a month ago. She will only feed herself with a spoon for oatmeal only...everything else from a spoon, we feed it.

Today, I took Bailey to the zoo (which for the first time ever, SHE LOVED IT! We toured the whole zoo, except Amazonia. I got to see parts of the zoo I hadn't seen in years. She was so calm and quiet in her stroller...it was very nice! (complete opposite of last year when she would scream bloody murder when in the stroller ONLY at the zoo!!) I have a new way to exercise when the weather is nice....Hills at the zoo, here I come! :) After the zoo, we went to Wesselman's Park to play on the playground. Bailey discovered there that she has found a NEW love. The SLIDE! ( I wanted to take a pic but I didn't have my camera :( )I bet she went down that slide 30 times! My back said more like 50 by the time I picked her up to sit her on it each and every time! After that, we picked up some lunch then came back & picked up Keenan...he works at Good Sam which is right by Wesselman Woods....so, we had a little picnic. In the 8 1/2 years that Keenan and I have known each other, LITERALLY every time we do a picnic, it is WINDY! CRAZY WINDY! Today was no exception! :) As always, we laugh it off and have the best time while chasing a few runaway napkins!
Needless to say, when we get back from our vacation, we are ordering her a swing/slide/sandbox set from Little Tikes!!!

On another happy note, Keenan and I just closed on the refinancing of our home this past Friday!! We refinanced to a 15 year loan which took off 12 years of the existing loan! We are very proud to have accomplished that!

Keenan and I are really looking forward to our vacation. 12 days from now. We are going to Lake Guntersville in AL for 5 days/4 nights. I hope Nonny is ready for the task & I hope I am ready to be gone from my baby that long! I just hope the weather is pretty for Bailey to play outside! This is the first Easter we will not be home for...I can't say I am sad about that. After being gone a week, the last thing I will want to do is come home and cook a big meal. Thanks Nonny for doing that for us. :-D It is appreciated in advance!

Sunshine & Short Sleeves

Is there anything better than sunshine & short sleeves? This weather is GREAT! Bailey and I are loving our days playing outside and our evenings outside when daddy gets home. The TV has not been on at all in 2 days! I LOVE IT! She has done surprisingly well since the time change. I like it WAY better. Last year we didn't really get to enjoy spring to its fullest due to her constant ear infections....so, watch out this year! Since Bailey has been born, Keenan and I have always said...I hope Bailey likes to be outside...since that is who WE are. Our dream has come true! I was grilling up some supper last night & thought I'd just leave Bailey inside while I was in and out. MISTAKE! After several crocodile tears and screams, on went the shoes & sweatshirt & she was instantly fine when her feet touched "outside!" CUTE! She played until supper, then played after supper until bath, then bed. I am liking this, not to mention all of the fresh air. I am glad there are a few leaves left over from fall, because as of now, that is Bailey's TOY of choice. :)

For the past 2 weeks now, I have been taking Bailey to a Mon & Tues library class. I am sad that I didn't know about this sooner. It would've been great for her to attend months ago. OH WELL! The main thing is, we are going now. As soon as we enter the play room, it is INSTANT shyness. A side I don't see of Bailey often. After about 10 minutes she warms up and is "Bailey" again. She still shys off during the songs of things that she knows...she likes to just keep her fingers in her mouth (trying to cut 5 teeth at once)....16 months old and still only 7 teeth. There are a couple of kids that attend that must have the worst of the "terrible 2s" There moms had to leave early with them both times....I hope that is not a sign of what is to come with Bailey. I felt so sorry for those stay at home moms if those kids act like that all day. Overall, she enjoys it & I am so glad that I am taking her...it really makes the mornings fly by!!

I am LOVING my new camera & my new hobby! I never would've guessed that photography would've ever been a hobby of mine! This week I am going to be taking pictures for a friend of ours who owns her own store (the pics are for her store website)...Junebug Creations...her little girl does the modeling for all of her handmade clothing..BEAUTIFUL! I just ordered an outfit for Bailey's 18mo pictures. She does a great job, check out her link to the right!

Keenan has started running again. He says he wants to run the half marathon again! WHAT? He made it in his goal time this past year and after the race he said he had no desire to ever do it again. Silly guy! He's considered maybe doing a triathalon or a duathalon. He isn't the strongest swimmer, and how do you train for swimming when you only own a kiddie pool? :) We'll see. It's just for fun anyway. I just hope he can take things easy so his shins & knees don't HURT him like they did last time! He's tough though & it makes him happy when he is running. He says it is a stress reliever...for me...it is a stress inducer. So I STAY AWAY FROM IT! :)
